Being in the military, no one ever supports going to sick-call or TMC—in fact, it was the opposite. The culture says push through, don't complain, don't document. No one talks about VA disability ratings while you're in uniform. But once soldiers come home with injuries and conditions that won't heal, they realize they NEED assistance. And that's when most veterans discover just how alone they really are.
During her combat deployment to Iraq, our founder Sina received a Traumatic Brain Injury from an explosion. Like so many veterans, she came home changed—dealing with symptoms that affected every part of her life. When she tried filing her VA disability claim, she quickly realized just how much she didn't know.
She didn't know who to contact. What forms to fill out. What the process timeline looked like. She wasn't even sure what the process was.
So she did what combat veterans do: she went to war with the problem.
Sina poured hours and hours into research. She dedicated months to the singular purpose of understanding the VA Disability and Compensation program inside and out. She spoke to VA representatives, VSO officers, and veterans with their own ratings. She became obsessed with mastering everything about VA disabilities and claims—not just for herself, but because she knew if she was struggling, thousands of other veterans were drowning in the same confusion.
Finally, her knowledge was ready to test. She filed a second claim to remedy the poor rating she'd been given after her first attempt through a VSO. After hours of meticulous work and a couple of months of C&P exams, she finally received the RIGHT rating she was qualified for—the rating she'd earned through her service and sacrifice.
That's when everything changed.
Soldiers from her unit heard about her success. The requests for help became overwhelming. Sina spent endless days and nights working with veterans—each one shocked by the benefits they were eligible for, and each one a success story in receiving the rating they deserved.
She saw the same pattern over and over:
- Veterans who were told they "didn't qualify" for conditions that were clearly service-connected
- Claims denied because of missing nexus letters or incomplete evidence
- C&P exams where veterans undersold their symptoms because they didn't know how to communicate their worst days
- Ratings of 10% or 20% when the veteran clearly qualified for 70% or 100%
- Secondary conditions that were never even mentioned, leaving tens of thousands of dollars on the table
